About Tresa Gibson
Exhibitions | Collections | Publications & Media
Energy, passion and free expression -- a fitting series of adjectives for both Tresa Gibson and her artwork. Tresa's
art often presents a simultaneous sense of order and chaos, drawing out unique emotions from her viewers.
Tresa best expresses herself with a palette knife, using oil on canvas. She enjoys creating works that balance colour and depth. Her subjects are diverse and her colour palette varied. Aspen and Birch forests display a wide array of warm tones in all seasons. Dark cityscapes enlighten the big city feel. Airy, bright and colourful florals contrast with pure passionate abstracts.
Tresa's inspiration comes from many years of travelling and research. Her travel has taken her from the Canadian Rockies to the Arizona Desert, while intersecting big cities such as New York and Copenhagen. All have influenced her work. Presently, her works are displayed in Calgary and in Ottawa.
Originally from Victoria, Tresa now lives in Calgary with her son Fletcher.
